“Don’t be surprised, he is a barbarian in the literal sense of the word—-as soon as he arrives at a party he immediately picks up something and starts reading.” -Vladimir Nabokov
Gabriel Levinson is the former reviews editor for Make: A Chicago Literary Magazine as well as an editor/contributor to Is Greater Than. Levinson has taught original creative writing workshops at 826 Chicago and elsewhere in the city. He has contributed work to a variety of publications including Significant Objects, Publishing Perspectives and Stop Smiling. In 2007 he produced The John & Bill Show, which brought legendary animators John Kricfalusi and Bill Plympton together for the first (and so far only) time. Later that year, Plympton and Levinson reunited for the test screening of Idiots & Angels. In 2008, Levinson was the tour manager for An Evening with Don Hertzfeldt. In 2010, he produced An Evening with Wayne White at the Cinefamily Theatre in Los Angeles. Also in 2010, Levinson teamed up with Bill Plympton for the official Chicago theatrical premieres of Idiots & Angels and The Cow Who Wanted To Be A Hamburger. Fun fact: Levinson makes a brief cameo in Steven Soderbergh’s critically-acclaimed 1993 German experimental film König der Murmelspieler.
